Excitement Builds as the July Show at Tattersalls Ireland is Launched

The 2026 July Show at Tattersalls Ireland was launched earlier this week, and the committee is delighted to confirm that it will take place from Friday 24th – Sunday 26th July 2026.

Following the success of last year’s expanded format, the show will continue for a second consecutive year as a three-day event at Tattersalls Ireland.

The show is run in association with the Ward Union Hunt and Rolestown Show, and all proceeds are in aid of St Francis Hospice. Over the last number of years, approximately €300,000 has been donated to the charity. In November 2025, a presentation of €26,000 was made to St Francis Hospice following the success of the 2025 show.

The three-day show will feature a packed schedule of showjumping and showing, together with two Defender Burghley Young Event Horse Qualifiers and two Treo Eile Performance Classes. The showjumping programme is headlined by the final leg of the Plusvital Premier Grand Prix Series, which will be the deciding factor in who claims the final two places for the Dublin Horse Show. This competition has a prize fund of €20,000. The schedule also includes the Sam Dennigan National Grand Prix and the Karlswood 1.35m competition.

The showing programme will also include Royal International Horse Show qualifiers, together with the finals of the Treo Eile Showing Pathway Series and the South East Ridden Irish Draught Championship.

New for 2026, Tattersalls Online and Treo Eile will launch a dedicated online sale of retrained thoroughbreds on 27th – 28th July alongside the July Show. The Treo Eile Summer Sale will showcase the versatility of retired racehorses and support their transition into second careers, with entries open to thoroughbreds competing across disciplines including eventing, showjumping, dressage, working hunter and showing.

In addition to top-class equestrian competition, the July Show will once again offer a strong family and lifestyle programme across the weekend. Family fun at this year’s show includes activities for children, a novelty dog show, and Boyne Valley Flavours, a community of local producers and traders offering a wide selection of local produce and artisan products.

New for 2026 will be the introduction of an Irish Arts and Crafts Fair, exhibiting Irish designed, sourced and created gifts, art and jewellery within the idyllic Tattersalls Country House setting.

Commenting at the launch of the July Show, Ronan Corrigan from Showjumping Ireland said:

“This is one of the most established shows, and one that people love to attend. It is a beautiful facility, and the standard improves year on year. It provides a link for showjumping to the thoroughbred and sport horse world.

“We are indebted to our sponsors whose support helps to elevate the show and increase competition.

Stephen O’Connor, committee member, made reference to the continued three-day format and evolving schedule:

“The success of last year’s three-day format made the decision very easy for us to continue it again in 2026. It allows competitors and visitors more time to enjoy everything the show has to offer.

“The July Show is considered to be one of the major shows ahead of the Dublin Horse Show which follows two weeks later.”
